حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، وَأَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ، قَالَا: أَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ فَقُلْنَا: هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَدَعَ شَيْئًا لِلَّهِ إِلَّا بَدَّلَكَ اللهُ بِهِ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Abu Qatadah and Abu Dhamma say that we reached a Bedouin man who told us that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) took my hand and began to teach me those things which Allah had taught him, and said: "Whatever you leave out of fear of Allah, Allah Almighty will grant you something better than it."
