حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنِي جَارٌ لِخَدِيجَةَ بِنْتِ خُوَيْلِدٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِخَدِيجَةَ: " أَيْ خَدِيجَةُ، وَاللهِ لَا أَعْبُدُ اللَّاتَ أَبَدًا، وَاللهِ لَا أَعْبُدُ الْعُزَّى أَبَدًا "، قَالَ: فَتَقُولُ خَدِيجَةُ: حِلَّ (١) الْعُزَّى، قَالَ: " كَانَتْ صَنَمَهُمُ الَّتِي يَعْبُدُونَ ثُمَّ يَضْطَجِعُونَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
A neighbor of Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that he heard the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) saying to Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O Khadijah! By Allah! I will never worship Lat. By Allah! I will never worship Uzza." Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Fulfill your oath regarding Uzza and others." The narrator says that these were the names of the idols which the polytheists used to worship, and then they would lie down on their beds.
