Hadith text

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man making this supplication: "O Allah! I ask You because I bear witness that You are Allah, there is no deity except You, You are One, Self-Sufficient, You have no offspring, nor were You born, and there is none comparable to You." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name; when He is asked by it, He surely gives, and when supplicated by it, He surely answers."
