Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Usaid (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) passed by us along with his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them). I also joined them until, while walking, we reached a garden called "Saut." There we sat down. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) seated his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to one side and entered a house, where a woman from the tribe of Jawn was brought to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) secluded himself with her in the house of Ummaymah bint Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with her). The woman also had a riding animal with her. When the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) approached the woman, he said to her, "Offer yourself to me (in marriage)." At this, (God forbid) she said, "Can a queen hand herself over to a common man? I seek refuge with Allah from you." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You have sought refuge with One who is sought for refuge." Saying this, he (ﷺ) came out and said, "O Abu Usaid! Give her two garments and send her to her family." Some narrators have mentioned the woman's name as Amina.
