حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا سلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ قَالَ: حُدِّثْتُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " تَقْرَءُونَ خَلْفِي؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: " فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ " (١) (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked the people, "Do you recite (Qur'an) behind me in prayer?" The people said, "Yes!" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do not do so, except that you recite Surah Al-Fatihah."
