Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with some companions of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). All of them were in the state of Ihram except for one man. That man saw a game animal, took his whip, attacked it, and hunted it. Then he ate from it, and we also ate from it, and we also saved some of it as provision for the journey. When we reached the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), we said, "O Messenger of Allah! That man was not in the state of Ihram; he hunted the animal, he ate from it, and so did we, and we still have a little of its meat left." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You may eat it."
