حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَائِدُ الْمَرِيضِ يَخُوضُ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ ". وَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ عَلَى وَرِكِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " هَكَذَا مُقْبِلًا وَمُدْبِرًا، وَإِذَا جَلَسَ عِنْدَهُ غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The one who visits a sick person immerses himself in the ocean of Allah’s mercy. Then the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) placed his hand on his side and said: He moves back and forth in this way, and when he sits by the sick person, Allah’s mercy covers him.
