حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ مَسَحَ رَأْسَ يَتِيمٍ أَوْ يَتِيمَةٍ لَمْ يَمْسَحْهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ كَانَ لَهُ (١) بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ مَرَّتْ عَلَيْهَا يَدُهُ حَسَنَاتٌ، وَمَنْ أَحْسَنَ إِلَى يَتِيمَةٍ أَوْ يَتِيمٍ عِنْدَهُ كُنْتُ أَنَا وَهُوَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ كَهَاتَيْنِ وَقَرَنَ بَيْنَ إِصْبُعَيْهِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever passes his hand over the head of an orphan boy or girl, only for the sake of Allah, then for every hair over which his hand passes, he will receive good deeds in return. And whoever treats well any orphan boy or girl under his care, I and he will be in Paradise like this—saying this, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) indicated by holding his index and middle fingers slightly apart.
