حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُبَارَكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ فَضَالَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " تَقْعُدُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ مَعَهُمُ الصُّحُفُ يَكْتُبُونَ النَّاسَ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الْإِمَامُ طُوِيَتِ الصُّحُفُ " قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ لَيْسَ لِمَنْ جَاءَ بَعْدَ خُرُوجِ الْإِمَامِ جُمُعَةٌ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى. وَلَكِنْ لَيْسَ مِمَّنْ يُكْتَبُ فِي الصُّحُفِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the day of Jumu'ah, the angels come and sit at the doors of the mosques and record the names of those who come first, second, and third. When the Imam comes out, the registers are closed. The narrator asked, "O Abu Umamah! Do those who join the Jumu'ah after the Imam has come out receive no reward?" He replied, "Why not? But their names are not written in those registers."
