حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي طَالِبٍ الضُّبَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ (٢) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَأَنْ أَذْكُرَ اللهَ تَعَالَى مِنْ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ أُكَبِّرُ وَأُهَلِّلُ وَأُسَبِّحُ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَعْتِقَ أَرْبَعًا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَلَأَنْ أَذْكُرَ اللهَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ، ، إِلَى أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَعْتِقَ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: In my view, remembering Allah at the time of sunrise—saying Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah, and Subhan Allah—is better than freeing four slaves from among the descendants of Ismail (peace be upon him). Similarly, remembering Allah from the Asr prayer until sunset is, in my view, better than freeing so many slaves from among the descendants of Ismail (peace be upon him).
