حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، عَنِ السَّرِيِّ بْنِ يَنْعُمَ، عَنْ مَرِيحِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ، (٣) عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ " إِيَّايَ وَالتَّنَعُّمَ؛ فَإِنَّ عِبَادَ اللهِ لَيْسُوا بِالْمُتَنَعِّمِينَ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) sent him to Yemen, he said: "Beware of a life of luxury and comfort, for the servants of Allah do not live a life of luxury and comfort."
