Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً مُؤْمِنَةً، فَهِيَ فِدَاؤُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever frees a Muslim slave, it will become a ransom for him from Hell.
