حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ، حَدَّثَهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ: " يَا مُعَاذُ بْنَ جَبَلٍ " قَالَ: لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ، قَالَ: " لَا يَشْهَدُ عَبْدٌ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، ثُمَّ يَمُوتُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ:، ، أَفَلَا أُحَدِّثُ النَّاسَ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، إِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يَتَّكِلُوا عَلَيْهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "O Mu'adh bin Jabal!" He replied, "At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and may happiness be yours." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever dies in such a state that he bears witness with a sincere heart that there is no god but Allah, will enter Paradise." I asked, "Should I not inform the people of this?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No, I fear that they will rely on it and stop striving."
