حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ لَيْلَى، امْرَأَةِ بَشِيرِ ابْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَّةِ، عَنْ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ: وَكَانَ قَدْ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: اسْمُهُ زَحْمٌ " فَسَمَّاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَشِيرًا " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that he presented himself before the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). His name was Zahm, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) changed his name to Basheer.
