حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ، ، أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَيَعْجَبُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ " قَالُوا: كَيْفَ يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ، أَوْ مَنْ يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ،؟ قَالَ: " قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them): "Are you incapable of reciting one third of the Qur'an in a single night?" This seemed very difficult to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and they said, "Who would have the strength to do that?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Recite Surah Ikhlas, for it is equal to one third of the Qur'an."
