Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي مِنْ كِتَابِهِ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، قَالَ الْأَعْمَشُ: حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ طَارِقٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اللهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَذَقْتَ أَوَائِلَ قُرَيْشٍ نَكَالًا، فَأَذِقْ آخِرَهُمْ نَوَالًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Ibn 'Abbas said:
I set up a short spear in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) in ‘Arafat, and he prayed facing it, with a donkey passing beyond the spear.
