Original Arabic
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ الْيَمَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، كَانَ يُعَلِّمُهُمِ الدُّعَاءَ، كَمَا يُعَلِّمُهُمِ السُّورَةَ مِنَ القُرْآنِ، يَقُولُ: قُولُوا: " اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the Eid prayer, then he delivered the khutbah; Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه) offered the Eid prayer, then he delivered the khutbah; 'Umar offered the Eid prayer, then he delivered the khutbah; and 'Uthman offered the Eid prayer, then he delivered the khutbah, with no adhan and no iqamah.
