حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، بالْأَسْوَافِ (٢) وَمَعِي طَيْرٌ اصْطَدْتُهُ، قَالَ: فَلَطَمَ قَفَايَ، وَأَرْسَلَهُ مِنْ يَدِي، وَقَالَ: أَمَا عَلِمْتَ يَا عُدَيَّ (٣) نَفْسِكَ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّمَ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
Shurahbil says that once I caught a bird in the market that was like a lark. Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) saw it, took it from my hand and set it free (and it flew away), and said: "Do you not know that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) has declared the area between the two boundaries of Madinah Munawwarah as sacred?"
