حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الزِّبْرِقَانَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: "كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً أَشَدَّ عَلَى أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا، قَالَ: فَنَزَلَتْ: {حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى} [البقرة: ٢٣٨] ، قَالَ: "إِنَّ قَبْلَهَا صَلَاتَيْنِ، وَبَعْدَهَا صَلَاتَيْنِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform the Zuhr prayer during the midday heat, and for the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) there was no prayer more difficult than this. Upon this, the following verse was revealed: "Guard strictly all the prayers, especially the middle prayer," and he said, "There are two prayers before it and two prayers after it."
