حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيَّ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللهِ شِبْرًا، تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللهِ ذِرَاعًا، تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا، وَمَنْ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى اللهِ مَاشِيًا، أَقْبَلَ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ مُهَرْوِلًا، وَاللهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty says, "Whoever comes near to Me by a span, I come near to him by a hand's length; and whoever comes near to Me by a hand's length, I come near to him by a cubit; and whoever comes to Me walking, I come to him running." And Allah Almighty is Most Great and Most Exalted.
