حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ: قَامَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ، يَعْنِي السَّنَةَ، قَالَ: "غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ أَخْوَفُ لِي عَلَيْكُمْ: الدُّنْيَا إِذَا صُبَّتْ عَلَيْكُمْ صَبًّا، فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا يَلْبَسُونَ الذَّهَبَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon when a hard-natured Bedouin stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Famine will consume us." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I fear another thing for you regarding yourselves: when the world will be poured upon you. I wish that at that time my Ummah would not wear gold jewelry."
