Musnad Ahmad Hadith 21072

Haritha says that I went to visit Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness. He had cauterized his body. When he saw me, he said, "I do not think anyone has suffered as much pain as I have. During the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), I could not get even a single dirham, and now, in one corner of my house, forty thousand dirhams are buried. If I had not heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say that none of you should wish for death, I would certainly have wished for it." Then a shroud was brought to him, and seeing it, he began to weep and said, "Even Hamza did not get this much of a shroud. There was a simple sheet, which if placed over his head, his feet would be uncovered, and if placed over his feet, his head would be uncovered. So his head was covered with it, and idhkhir grass was placed over his feet."
