حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، وَسُرَيْجٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ: يَثْرِبَ وَالْمَدِينَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّاهَا طَابَةَ " قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ: يَثْرِبُ الْمَدِينَةُ (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that people used to call Madinah Munawwarah as Yathrib. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty has named Madinah Munawwarah as "Tayyibah".
