Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to pray behind the Prophet (ﷺ), and when turning to the right and left to say salam, we would gesture with our hands. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "What is the matter with people that they gesture with their hands like the tails of difficult horses? Can you not remain calm and gesture while your hand is on your thigh? Say salam to your companion on your right and left."
