حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الزُّهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَاعِدًا قَطُّ فَلَا تُصَدِّقْهُ، " قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مِائَةِ مَرَّةٍ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا، ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فَلَا يَتَكَلَّمُ بِشَيْءٍ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَهُ الْأُخْرَى "، قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ كَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ؟ قَالَ: " كَانَتْ قَصْدًا، كَلَامًا يَعِظُ بِهِ النَّاسَ، وَيَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ تَعَالَى " (١)، •
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivering the sermon while standing. Therefore, if anyone among you says that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivering the sermon while sitting, he is not telling the truth. I saw him delivering the sermon more than a hundred times. First, he would deliver the sermon once and then sit down, then stand up and deliver the second sermon. The Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sermon and prayer were moderate. He would admonish the people and recite verses from the Holy Qur’an.
