حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ يَعْنِي الشَّعْبِيَّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ عَزِيزًا إِلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً "، فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ وَضَجُّوا، وَقَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً، قُلْتُ لِأَبِي: يَا أَبَتْ، مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage that this religion will always prevail over its opponents; no one who opposes or separates from it will be able to harm it, until twelve caliphs have passed among my Ummah. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said something which I did not understand. I asked my father, "What did the Prophet (ﷺ) say?" He replied, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said: All of them will be from the Quraysh."
