حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنِي خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: مَاتَ بَغْلٌ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَفْتِيهِ، قَالَ: فَزَعَمَ جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهَا: " مَا لَكَ مَا يُغْنِيكَ عَنْهَا؟ " قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: " فَاذْهَبْ فَكُلْهَا " (١)، •
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a family living in Harrah whose members were poor and needy. Nearby, their she-camel or someone else's she-camel died. A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) to ask about its ruling. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "Do you not have anything that would make you independent of it?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) permitted them to eat it (due to the state of necessity).
