حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، " أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُرِحَ، فَآذَتْهُ الْجِرَاحَةُ، فَدَبَّ إِلَى مَشَاقِصَ، فَذَبَحَ بِها (١) نَفْسَهُ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "، وَقَالَ: كُلُّ ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ، " هَكَذَا أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ، وَلَا أَحْسَبُ هَذِهِ الزِّيَادَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ قَوْلِ شَرِيكٍ، قَوْلَهُ: ذَلِكَ أَدَبٌ مِنْهُ " (٢)، •
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a companion of the Prophet (ﷺ) was wounded. When the pain from his wounds increased, he cut open his chest with a knife (committed suicide). Upon hearing this, the Prophet (ﷺ) did not offer his funeral prayer.
