Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), there was once a solar eclipse. The Prophet (ﷺ) hurriedly came out, dragging his garment, and reached the mosque. The people also came quickly. The Prophet (ﷺ) performed two rak'ahs until the sun became completely bright. The Prophet (ﷺ) turned towards us and said: "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah by which Allah frightens His servants. They do not eclipse because of anyone's death. In fact, on that very day, the son of the Prophet (ﷺ), Ibrahim, had passed away. Whenever you see such a thing, perform prayer and supplicate until the calamity is over."
