حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا لَيْسَ بِكَلْبِ صَيْدٍ، وَلَا زَرْعٍ، وَلَا غَنَمٍ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Mughaffal that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog that is not for the protection of fields, hunting, or livestock, their reward will decrease by one qirat every day.
