Translation

English translation

Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would observe silence twice during the prayer: once after beginning the prayer, and once after completing the recitation. Imran bin Husain said, "I do not remember this from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." Both of them wrote a letter to Ubayy bin Ka'b regarding this matter, in which they inquired from him. Ubayy bin Ka'b, in his reply, confirmed the statement of Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him).
