Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَوَادَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " لَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ أَذَانُ بِلَالٍ، وَلَا هَذَا الْفَجْرُ الْمُسْتَطِيلُ، وَلَكِنِ الْفَجْرُ الْمُسْتَطِيرُ "، وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا، وَأَشَارَ يَزِيدُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) once said during a sermon that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do not be deceived by Bilal's call to prayer or this whiteness until the true dawn appears. The true dawn is the light that spreads across the horizon in width."
