Original Arabic
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ، وَأَكْبَرُ ظَنِّي أَنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " احْضُرُوا الذِّكْرَ، وَادْنُوا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ، فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَا يَزَالُ يَتَبَاعَدُ حَتَّى يُؤَخَّرَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِنْ دَخَلَهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Attend the Friday prayer and stay close to the Imam, for a person who keeps staying behind from Jumu'ah keeps staying behind from Paradise, even though he is deserving of it.
