حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي قَزَعَةَ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مَا حَقُّ الْمَرْأَةِ عَلَى الزَّوْجِ؟ قَالَ: " تُطْعِمُهَا إِذَا طَعِمْتَ، وَتَكْسُوهَا إِذَا اكْتَسَيْتَ، وَلَا تَضْرِبِ الْوَجْهَ، وَلَا تُقَبِّحْ، وَلَا تَهْجُرْ إِلَّا فِي الْبَيْتِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What right does our wife have over us?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When you eat, feed her as well; when you clothe yourself, clothe her as well; do not strike her on the face; do not abuse her; and if you separate from her, do so only within the house."
