حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ يَعْنِي الشَّافِعِيَّ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: أَنْشُدُ اللهَ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْجَدِّ شَيْئًا. فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: " شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَاهُ الثُّلُثَ ". قَالَ: مَعَ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي. قَالَ: لَا دَرَيْتَ (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I put under oath the person who has heard anything from the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding the inheritance of the grandfather, that he should inform us." Upon hearing this, a man stood up and said: "I bear witness that the Prophet (ﷺ) gave him one third." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Is there anyone else with you?" He replied: "I do not know." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Then you do not know anything."
