حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ، أَنَّ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ حَدَّثَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ " قَالَ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ: إِنَّ مِنْهُ ضَعْفًا. فَغَضِبَ عِمْرَانُ فَقَالَ: لَا أَرَانِي أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ " وَتَقُولُ: إِنَّ مِنْهُ ضَعْفًا . قَالَ: فَجَفَاهُ، فَأَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يُحَدِّثَهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّهُ كَمَا تُحِبُّ. Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Modesty always brings goodness. After hearing this hadith from him, Bashir bin Ka'b said: It is written in the books of wisdom that modesty produces dignity and tranquility. Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I am narrating to you the hadith of the Prophet (ﷺ) and you are talking about your scriptures.
