حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَمْرَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي زَهْدَمُ بْنُ مُضَرِّبٍ، (٢) قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خَيْرُكُمْ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، لَا أَدْرِي (٣) مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي، أَوْ يَجِيءُ، بَعْدَكُمْ قَوْمٌ يَنْذُرُونَ فَلَا يُوفُونَ، وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُتَّمَنُونَ، (٤) وَيَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ، وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمُ السِّمَنُ " (٥)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best era of this Ummah is the one in which I have been sent, then the era of those who come after them, then there will come a people who will make vows but will not fulfill them, they will be treacherous and will not be trustworthy, they will be ready to give testimony though it will not be asked from them, and obesity will become common among them.
