حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ: " مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ، وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا، وَصَلَاتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about praying while sitting. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Performing prayer while standing is the most virtuous; the reward for praying while sitting is half of that for praying while standing, and the reward for praying while lying down is half of that for praying while sitting.
