Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people from Banu Tamim came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said to them, "O Banu Tamim! Accept the glad tidings." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have given us glad tidings, now also give us something (as a gift)." After a little while, a tribe from Yemen came, so the Prophet (ﷺ) said to them, "Banu Tamim did not accept the glad tidings, you accept them." They said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have accepted it, now tell us how this matter began?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah was before everything, and His Throne was upon water, and He wrote everything in the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz)." Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) says that during this, a man came to me and said, "O Imran! Your camel's rope has come undone." I went out in search of it, and a mirage came between me and it, so I do not know what happened after me.
