حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا السَّوَّارِ الْعَدَوِىَّ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " الْحَيَاءُ لَا يَأْتِي إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ " فَقَالَ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ: مَكْتُوبٌ فِي الْحِكْمَةِ أَنَّ مِنْهُ وَقَارًا، وَمِنْهُ سَكِينَةً. فَقَالَ:، ، عِمْرَانُ: أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَتُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْ صُحُفِكَ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Modesty always brings goodness. After hearing this hadith from him, Bashir bin Ka'b said: It is written in the books of wisdom that modesty produces dignity and tranquility. Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I am narrating to you the hadith of the Prophet (ﷺ) and you are talking about your scriptures.
