حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: اسْتَأْذَنَ أَبُو مُوسَى عَلَى عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَا ثَلَاثًا فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ، فَرَجَعَ فَلَقِيَهُ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ: مَا شَأْنُكَ رَجَعْتَ؟ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مِنْ اسْتَأْذَنَ ثَلَاثًا فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ فَلْيَرْجِعْ " فَقَالَ: لَتَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى هَذَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ أَوْ لَأَفْعَلَنَّ وَلَأَفْعَلَنَّ، فَأَتَى مَجْلِسَ قَوْمِهِ فَنَاشَدَهُمُ اللهَ تَعَالَى. فَقُلْتُ: أَنَا مَعَكَ، فَشَهِدُوا لَهُ بِذَلِكَ (١) فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) greeted Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) three times. He was not granted permission, so he returned. Later, when Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) met him, he asked, "Why did you leave?" He replied, "I sought permission three times, and when I was not granted permission, I left. This is what we have been instructed to do." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Present a witness for this, otherwise I will punish you." Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) went to a gathering of the Ansar. They said, "Even the youngest among us can testify to this." Thus, Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) went with them and testified to it, so Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) let him go.
