Original Arabic
قَالَ: وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ الْقَلْبُ مِنْ تَقَلُّبِهِ، إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْقَلْبِ كَمَثَلِ رِيشَةٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ فِي أَصْلِ شَجَرَةٍ تُقَلِّبُهَا الرِّيحُ ظَهْرًا لِبَطْنٍ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
And the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The heart is called "qalb" because it keeps turning, and the example of the heart is like that of a feather at the root of a tree, which the wind keeps turning over and over.
