Musnad Ahmad Hadith 19573

And the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said that the example of the guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like that of rain which falls upon the earth. Now, some part of the earth accepts it and from it grows abundant grass and fodder. Some part is barren, which holds the water, and through it Allah benefits the people; so they drink from it, quench their thirst, give it to their animals to drink, use it in cultivation, and give it to others to drink. And some part is a flat plain which neither holds the water nor grows any grass. This is the example of the person who understands the religion of Allah and Allah benefits him with what He has sent me with; people also benefit from it, and he acquires knowledge and spreads it. And this is the example of the person who does not even raise his head for it and does not accept the guidance of Allah with which I have been sent.
