Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) about hunting with a dog. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you release your trained dog for hunting and mention the name of Allah, then whatever game it catches for you and does not eat itself, you may eat it. And if you find the game alive, then slaughter it. And if the dog has eaten from it, then do not eat it.
