حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلَانِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَتَشَهَّدَ أَحَدُهُمَا، فَقَالَ: مَنْ يُطِعِ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، فَقَدْ رَشَدَ، وَمَنْ، ، يَعْصِهِمَا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " بِئْسَ الْخَطِيبُ أَنْتَ، قُمْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man, while delivering a speech in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), said: "Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger succeeds, and whoever disobeys 'both of them' goes astray." The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "You are a very bad orator, get down from here."
