Translation

English translation

Ibn Abi Layla (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say four takbirs over our funerals. On one occasion, he said five takbirs over a funeral. People asked him about this, so he replied that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) would sometimes also say five takbirs.
