Translation

English translation

It was narrated from Ibn "Abbas that

the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delayed ‘Isha" until as much of the night as Allah willed had passed. Then ‘Umar said to him: O Messenger of Allah, the women and children have gone to sleep. He came out and said: "Were it not that it would be too difficult for my ummah, I would have enjoined them to pray at this hour.”
