حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عِرَاكٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مَرْوَانَ، بِالْمَوْسِمِ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطَعَ فِي مِجَنٍّ، وَالْبَعِيرُ أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْمِجَنِّ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Marwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) had the hand cut off for stealing a shield, so a camel is superior to a shield.
