حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَدْ وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فِي الْغَرْزِ: أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) at a time when the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) had his feet in the stirrup, and he said, "Which jihad is the most virtuous?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Speaking a word of truth before a tyrant ruler."
