Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأُنَاسٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فِي مَجَالِسِهِمْ، فَقَالَ: " إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ، فَاهْدُوا السَّبِيلَ، وَرُدُّوا السَّلَامَ، وَأَعِينُوا الْمَظْلُومَ " وَقَالَ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ: أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ مِنَ الْبَرَاءِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some Ansar companions and said: If you have no choice but to sit by the roadside, then spread greetings of peace, help the oppressed, and guide the way. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
